Six Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested in Bo

The Sierra Leone Police have arrested six suspected armed robbers in Bo. Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Brima Kanneh, the Southern Regional Police Commander, stated that three of the suspects are from Rutile, and the other three are from Bo.

During the operation, the police recovered a fully loaded AK-47 rifle and other dangerous weapons. This action was taken in response to a rise in armed robberies in Bo and the surrounding areas, which had caused fear among residents. The situation became more urgent after a mechanic was tragically shot and killed by armed men on August 15, 2024, in the Torgboi Town section of Bo.

AIG Kanneh praised the teamwork that led to the arrests and thanked the Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, IG William Fayia Sellu, for sending a special anti-robbery team to strengthen security in Bo. He assured the public that the police are in control and focused on restoring peace and safety in the city.

The arrests have brought relief to the people of Bo, who had been living in fear due to the increasing violence. Many in the community have expressed their appreciation for the police’s quick and effective action.
